I am looking to use SB bell on a BB.
I am going to put Toyota 5 speed behind a fairly stock 400 bb.
Going to use a 318 bell out of a Dakota.
I need to make or buy a adapter so I can bolt it to my 400.
I want to make the adapter if I can.but if there is a kit I would be open to it. Thanks for your input.

I have seen mention of an adapter but never actually viewed the part. If you have access to a CNC type mill you probably could make such an adapter. You will also need a lathe to make the crank flange spacer.
To get an idea of what it will look like, place the small block bell on a piece of paper or cardboard and trace the outline and bolt holes, then, overlay the B bell and trace that pattern. Use different color sharpies.
Take a good hard look at the sketch as well as the 2 bells and try to identify any obvious conflicts.

If it looks like something you want to tackle I can walk you through the basic steps.

You can contact me through the web site 'contact' page or just call the shop. 888-Hemi-Parts.

Let me know if this works for you . I have a R154 sitting in garage that I wanted to use behind a BB but haven't had much luck either. I would be interested in what you learn.
