small to large bolt pattern question

Can you swap axles in the 8.25 rears to get to the bigger wheel bolt pattern? I found a 8.25 out of a 71 Duster for $100 and already have the front setup out of a 73 Duster. Is it worth it to grab what I can get or should I wait for a later rear?

if it is for sure an A body 8 1/4 i would snatch it up fast at that price

I had him check the bolt pattern and he reported 4" in the dark with a flashlight. If it has the 4" pattern it must be a 7.25 right?

yes if it has a removable rear cover , otherwise its an 8 3/4
