Small Truck or small SUV recommends?

Any recommends on small trucks (extended cab at least) /small suvs?
Too many brands these days, and need to get one for work purposes in the next few months. Looking at trucks made in 2000 and newer.

I have an 04 Ranger Edge extra cab. I kinda fell into it, I AINT a Ford guy......but I really like this little truck. I figured the mileage up over four tanks. It started with a 2 so I just stopped dividing. That's good enough for me. 3.0, auto, 4.10 gears power windows, locks, steering, brakes, air tilt cruise. Not quite 140K and it runs like new. .......and I am actually thinkin of sellin it...............like a dumbass.

My 05 ram 1500 quad-cab 6 ft bed automatic behind 4.7 gets about 15 mpg fully loaded. And I just rolled 184,000.

Ford Escape or Ranger. Those would be my first choices at the moment.

i have a 2004 ranger 4wd 4.0 liter v-6 manual trans daily driver very satisfied get around 20 mpg 54 mile comute per day to work

Ever think about a mini-van? You can haul alot of stuff in one. Gets decent gas milage, easy to get in & out

Gotta be a truck or suv, as its for work and will be driving clients around sometimes. also a truck is perfect for transporting motorcycles, so its a dual purpose.
