Wanting to mount the 72 style snorkel scoop today.

There are 2 studs which need to be installed. Was thinking of using something like loctite quick set auto epoxy. Will this work well, or is there a better choice?

Also, if someone knows of a link for the 72 style mounting tips, could you point me in that direction? Found the link for the 71 twin scoop, but not the 72.

Thanks

Some of that quick set epoxy, like JB Weld Qwik will dissolve the scoop material if it's a stock piece. There are some solvents/distllates in it that attack the material turning it into a goopy mess.

I think your best bet would be to fiberglass it, possibly with an insert installed. I've used regular JB weld and it works OK. Just don't crank on it when tightening. Doesn't have a lot of strength. Let it cure for a few days before drilling or installing the stud.

Thx crackedback for your help & suggestion. Turns out the 2 studs screwed in the holes tightly by themselves.

The scoop is on and was quite the learning experience, but looks great. :happy10:
