Finally got a big block A body that I have wanted for 30+ years. Car has been sitting largely for 10 + years. Big block conversion a good 20 years old.

Originally a slant six car.
C body 742 case 8 3/4 shortened to A body width. 3.55 limited slip. Driveshaft made.Same C body transmission I assume.

Cast crank 440 with a small comp cam and an edelbrock performer intake and 750 carb. Schumacher install mounts and their headers into a 2.5 exhaust with dynomax super turbo mufflers.
MSD ignition. Car had nitrous at one point but not currently. I have a system on another car that may find its way here after all other upgrades are done.

After some parts accumulated and a slot came open in my long time friend (Tom Ward)and hotrod mechanics garage at his home (retired now), the work has begun.
Resealed the Trans with a deep pan, adjusted the bands and upped the line pressure a bit. Replaced the spliced in Trans line. Replaced the leaking pinion seal and serviced the rear end.

On to the 1inch torsion bars and Bilstein shocks all around. Then the Competition Engineering subframe connectors which he welded in.

Here it is to this point with the current ride height and scaled at 3144lbs with no driver. My fat butt will add 200lbs to that number.

Yes the wheels have to go. I have some front drag stars on the way from a member here. I need to find some rears.

Paint is old, faded in spots and cracking but it doesn't bother me. Going for a day two barn find kind of look. Some filler in the left rear and the tail panel looks rough. Trunk and all floor pans are nice and no rot.

Next up is 440 source cnc heads and comp xe274 cam out of the same motor.I dug my old aluminum water pump housing out of the barn for it as well.
I have an rpm intake on the way but I know it won't clear the hood and if so won't leave much room for the air cleaner. I have my old port matched Holley street dominator as well but would rather have dual plane.

I would love a Sixpack scoop on a fiberglass hood for it but that will have to wait. I could cut this hood as I am not crazy about the twin scoops.
