Can't stand watching it and never liked it.

Now this (insert derogatory comment) city wants to charge the taxpayer for a new stadium. They say a $100 million, but they never stay anywhere near budget on projects, and get ripped off often. The (insert derogatory comment) local news report 67% want it. I don't believe that statistic at all.

I see a clusterf* forming. The team and supporting fans should pay for this, with the city coordinating where they can. Maybe I am just old and grumpy too.

Will the tax payers benefit from this new stadium?

Any return on investment?

When I see "soccer" I hear "hooligans, and riots"

Well the fans are dedicated and seem a bit rowdy. Ok with me, got to respect that.
Doubtful they will ever be a real moneymaker, although I read the team has saved up over $10 million. But that is over many years. The population here is predicted to shrink. Throw a pandemic into the equation and it seems like a bad idea.
