1964 Valiant. Isn't the "nub" on the jack foot supposed to fit THROUGH the center hole in the spare wheel, instead of sitting on top of it? Also, regarding the piece of wood that covers the spare. Isn't there supposed to be a cup that goes in the hole and holds it down? My jack foot doesn't fit into the center hole in the wheel. It sits on top of the hole. I got it from a member here a while back and it was supposed to be the right one. Isn't it supposed to fit through the center hole?

Photos or it didn't happen

My OEM 67 one family Dart did not come with the black cup that locates the hard board cover. It may have been a Plymouth thing or 68 up?

Maybe it's the wrong one?

Sorta what I'm thinkin, but since it may be the wrong one, I don't know, since I have no comparison to the right one. lol All I know is the nub is too big for the center hole. It works to hold the spare down, but I don't think it's right. I also need a longer bolt so I can flip the tire around the right way with the valve stem up.

The tire naturally sits stem down.

The center of the Jack base should be smaller in od than the id of the wheel register
I know it, but I don't like that. Thanks for confirming that about the jack base. I thought so. So I need to measure for a longer bolt and put a wanted ad for the correct jack base. Moochas grassy ***.

You might have the correct jack.

This is from the 67 (65 might be different) glove box owners manual.

Yes, my jack is different. The part that hooks the bumper is part of the jack head and doesn't come off. I just have the jack there for the hell of it. I carry a small floor jack strapped around the original jack with a rubber bungee cord.

this is the OEM unit from my 67
Base is 8"x6" and looks like this one.

Can anyone verify if the nub on the jack base fits INTO the center hole in the spare wheel?
