This is a screenshot of text messages I had with someone on Marketplace. Incidently, the price difference displayed is because he lowered the price shortly after the texts took place.

I was kind of thinking that. He doesn't really have the item to look at. It's a fuzzy picture on the ad, too.
 
Marketplace has prewritten replies for both the buyer and seller for the initial message that you can choose. Sometimes people are just lazy and don't bother reading the actual message they've received, and choose the prewritten reply of "Yes, are you still interested?"

I doubt it's a scammer, more like a lazy seller.
 
That's kinda funny because the number one initial scam communication is- "do you still have the item".
