spedometer cable

dash is making a squeeling/screeching sound every oncei n a while and the spedo needle jumps a little more than it used to. is it just the spedometer cable?
 
the jumpy needle is probably a bad or bent wire cant answer for the sounds it makes, since my car has always been loud enough to hide stuff like that ;)
just changed the wire on my car its a job i hate doing since its so tight under the dash and my arms and hands realy dont fit in there....
 
Pull the speedo cable then you can pull out the inner cable and check for any fraying. If it is ok use some white grease and reinstall it if not just get a new one.
