Spider shaft

Ok all
I got some clarity on my thrust block removal on my open 489 case carrier and I really appreciate it! Now the question is how do I remove the spider gear shaft? It looks like it will hit the ring gear. One end had a slot in it and the other an allen lock. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Floyd I haven't done one on an open differential. You may have to take the ring gear off to get it out, not sure. You may not even have to remove it at all. You might want to trial fit things to see if the axles go all the way in before you try removing the block.
