I picked up these chrome mirrors with the intentions of repairing/painting them B7 to match my '70 Duster.
They were perfect candidates for this project. They came apart easily and the mirrors are snug/tight.

I worked the raised portions with a file....next is some filler, high build primer and sanding.

So far into it, I have $125 in the purchase and $15 for blasting. I am buying new gaskets but have the body work supplies and paint on hand. Not counting time, I will have about $175 total in them. Not exactly frugal considering I could have just popped on the LH standard mirror, that I have, but I like these a lot, they are original Mopar mirrors that will be put to good use!
stay tuned.................

Few pics of the completed right side mirror for my '70 Duster. I think it turned out pretty good!
I will wait about another day to let paint dry more on the left mirror as it will need to be handled more for reassembly.

Paint from a can is from Totally Auto...bought a few years ago for eventual projects like this. It's a nice match.

I buffed out parts of the original paint on the Duster. B7 is a neat color.

Good job, looks like it turned out pretty damn nice!

Thankyou! Here it is installed on the car and I included a couple pics of pedestal for the drivers side. It took the most time of sanding/blending because of pitting but it looks new now!

For the mirror install, I made a template using the drivers side mounting points then flipped it over so that I could use the references on the passenger side.

Well, finished up the drivers mirrors and installed it. Now all that is left to do is anchor the remote cables away from the window and drill the hole in the door to mount the remote control. It all went together pretty nice considering I thought I was opening a can of worms when I took the remote and cables apart.
