I don't collect them(baseball, basket ball, football)but i am a sucker for what i think may be a bargain. I have thousands in the basement and Friday i went to a garage/yard sale and the guy had a BUNCH for sale all lined up nice and neat in sets in 4 different boxes. 10,000 + cards to give you an idea. I got em all for $20. At wally world today i picked up a Beckets magazine but it don't go back as far as my cards do. How do i find out the value of these cards. At only a penny a card that would be $100. Some i'm sure are worth well more than that. Any ideas on how to determine the worth of older cards? I'm talking back in the 80's and further back. Thanks for the help.

google the indevidual sets, or cards that you think are worth something..or check on ebay

I collect mainly early 70's football cards . Online you probably could go to Beckett.com or you might be able to find a Beckett or other sports card colecting magazne there. Another option would be to send them to me...HEHE. Send me a pm of some of your better cards ,or star players, with pics is best.

Hey Dan Where do you want me to send the cards to ...he he. I use to live and work in Anchorage for the Alaska Railroad then the slope. Do you fish for silvers in september? Might have to come up and see ya.

Wow..you used to live here..What took you away from this great state?Must have been the loooonnnggg cold winters, hehe. We start catching silvers and reds in july thru sept.,it just depends what area your going to.How long have you been away from Alaska. This place is growing like crazy, and not for the good......Take Care.DAN

Hey Mike. It snowed here today. April 13th. Anyone ever heard of global cooling?

You have got to be kidding :tongue9:
It did rain on and off today and cold here too.
I will let the weather station here in Jonesboro know about it.

I have about 125,000 sportcards, baseball, football, basketball, hockey, and some Nascar. I used to sell at card shows, but the market got soft when ebay got big. Too easy to buy cheap on there. Dan had good advise about Beckett.com, and they also sell an edition for vintage cards, but they're only single sport. You can get an idea of what the market is for a card by checking ebay. Commons are cheap, so I would pick off the cream, and dump the rest off as smaller lots. There are a lot of set builders out there looking for 1970's and older stuff, so keep that in mind when putting your lots together. Try to keep like cards (same year&brand) together when you lot them up. You should have no problem turning a profit at what you paid, even if they are all commons. Tim
