I got my new SS Springs from Summit and began the installation process. I found that the new front SS spring bushings were too large for the stock front spring hanger bolt (car is a 71 Demon). Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Would it be recommended to replace the bushings or drill out the front spring hangers and use a larger grade 8 bolt to hang the springs?

Yep, I had mine driled out, and bought a grade 8 bolt at the hardware store. Then later had a local chasis guy move the springs into the frame. The guy tossed my stock hangers. Bummer!

yep, drill out the mount. Also if you dont like the extra height from the
springs. I recomend flipping the front mount. You can gain about 2 in.
Flipped mine and got it back to about stock height. All you have to do
is slot the 4 mounting holes. I used stainless harden bolts.

Thanks guys!

I was hoping I could just drill them out, much easier than buying new bushings. I am going to pick up a couple grade 8 bolts on my way home and will be widening the hole on my drillpress.

I was considering flipping my hangers, but first I want to see just how high it puts the rear end. Before buying these springs my rear suspension was sagging so low the axle would nearly bottoming out when I went over a bump.
