The guy who wrote the 2nd post on the above linked thread owns that forum and a power equipment shop. He is very knowledgeable. and helped me so much several years ago, that I bought a chainsaw from his shop.
I didn't find any threads specific to Marine Stabil, but there's lots of discussion on that forum about stabilizers, in general. If you posted on there, you'd probably get more info than you wanted!
