Staples in the window Frame ? Vinyl top car

there are staples in the Metal in Front windshield channel and rear window channel ,I was thinking the Factory stapled the vinyl top, they put the staples right into the metal,should i remove these staples and seal it ? i am installing a new vinyl top.

It wouldn't hurt to pull them out and seal them up.
The top vinyl will lay in a bit flatter also. It what I would do.
Or you could just glue the vinyl down right over them.

The factory did staple them down.

I just had my Vinyl redone. No staples were used. I'd remove and fill them in. Not a lot of room for windshield trim window gasket etc. No need for extra bulk in there.
