What is the correct way to wire my starter to a trunk mounted battery and killswitch ?

I know the way I have it set up is'nt right and its not very safe.

Right now I have a 2 guage wire running from the starter all the way to the killswitch then back to the battery (switch doesnt kill the engine if its running) and a ground from the battery to the frame rail aswell as one fron the motor to the frame rail.

I know this has been covered a million times, sorry.

Pictures and diagrams would be great. Also Im running a cheap Summit killswitch.

The answer lies in the hot wire from the Alternator.
Disconnect the main alt wire, and run a new one back to the positive battery post or to the battery side of the switch.
Make sure you cover the original one real well, so it doesn't touch anything.
Once the engine is running the battery is just along for the ride, the alternator does all the work.
The only down side to doing this is the amp gauge will no longer work, as I beleive the power runs from the alt thru the gauge then to the rest of the system.

I hope my info helps.
In the pic, the red wire from the Alternator DOES NOT connect to the starter wire. The drawing should show it differently. I'll see if I can fix the pic.

Here's another one, not nearly as pretty. This is from my car.
