I have a bunch of NOS starter armatures, Mostar Delco Remy....They were not stored properly and have some surface rust on them...are these worth saving or should they go in the scrap pile? I have the crusty boxes with part numbers and look to be for GM cars, just not sure if I should sell them if they are still good is all, thanks!

Rust on the rotor won't be a problem, but rust where the bearings ride can be. If there's rust, there may be corrosion of other metals too.
Theoretically there's a lot of valuable materials there, but finding someone willing to pay above scrap may be impossible. Maybe a local motor/starter rebuilding shop? I've seen a handful still operating over the years. A dying breed to be sure though.

Do you have part numbers? If not they might not be worth much. Otherwise, "as above."

If you are in a large enough town that there's some sort of rebuilder/ motor rewind, they may buy them "as cores"

Yes there are part numbers on the boxes, some are tough to read but I think I figured out what they fit...just not sure if anyone would want them. I have a buddy who makes metal art using steel and car parts, maybe he can use them otherwise there is an old fashioned “Motor service” place that rebuilds this stuff, maybe I’ll see if they can use them, thanks!

All parts for rebuilding starters/alternators/generators are becoming very scarce. This includes buying older complete units just for their parts. I rebuild and restore, but few do that anymore not caring about "matching numbers". How many of us are left? Not many. Most now will replace units with modern ones.
