How many here use a wrap to keep the heat away from there starter. I put one on, but Im worried that the if the main battery post rubs thru and contacts the foil it could cause a fire or short out... Or am I thinking to much?

I used the foil backed to wrap the starter body, and I use the blue silicone high temp tubing from NAPA to cover the starter cable itself.

That is a interesting idea! Is that blue tubing like a fuel line tubing or ???? I just dont think I have ever seen anything like that there before.

A little more like the tubing that comes on good slingshots but hi temp.:D
Same stuff that those orange spark plug wire boots are made of.
