Does the raised embossment on this gasket go toward the manifold flange or the pipe flange? The old gaskets are composite, so I have no basis of comparison. Thanks.

I took those flange gaskets down to my locally owned (and Mopar guy owned) muffler shop. He told me as long as there is no round indent in either surface, they can go either direction. The extrusion will crush upon being torqued and seal the flange. It helps if both surfaces are flat. So far they seem to be ok.
