Steering box adjustment

I adjust it by breaking loose the nut on top of the gear box then tightening the screw in the middle with a big flat head or a tip of a tire iron, adjust and see how much play you like, sometimes when they have been adjusted too many times its and there is no more room or adjustment its time for a gear box over haul. Same procedure on manual and power boxes can be done really quick to adjust.

See the red arrow that is what you adjust to get play out, simple procedure, hope this helps
