steering column rebuild 71 demon 4sp

What is the correct finishes on the shaft and it housing under the hood . Does any repop the
TO REMOVE KEY -DEPRESS LEVER & TURN KEY. I seen a few post that 4sp cars don't use a bushing at the end of the shaft.

There is a bearing at the end of the Colum, the Colum is painted the suede interior color. The shaft itself is bare metal. I painted mine silver, because it was rusty.

If your not wanting factory correct here's a great item to use in place of the factory bearing fits perfect and use a T bolt hose clamp around the housing just did this to mine 1 Inch Inside Diameter, 2.0472 Inch Outside 60604709 - MSC and
2 to 2.31 Inch Hose, 3/4 Inch Wide x T Bolt 61585337 - MSC
