steering column restoration

-
I just did mine on a 69 Dart with floor shift. I removed the wheel, removed the turn signal switch from the housing along with the lever, cleaned it all up, including the bearing with brake cleaner. I wasn't able to remove the collar, so I left it in place, scuffed the whole thing with a scotch brite pad (green) wax and grease remover, and used SEM trim black reduced 50% with enamel reducer and shot it. I took the pot joint off, cleaned it all up, greased it up, and put it back together. I took the floor bracket off, glass beaded it and painted it semi glass black. When it went back together I used a syringe with wheel bearing grease to lube the bearing, cleaned all the elec connections, and put it back together. Looks great against the redone dash.
