I have installed a new manual steering box and a new shaft in the steering column. I'm now trying to put the steering column back in the car. I put the key in the ignition switch and turned it to unlock the steering wheel but now I want to lock the steering wheel but it won't lock and I can't get the key to turn to the locked position or remove it.
What may I have forgotten and how can I turn the key to the locked position and remove it. I have remove the coupler from the steering box and pull the shaft out of the column part way but still can't turn the key to the locked position.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
