I've found some measurements for manual vs. power steering shafts.

Manual steering shaft is ~40-5/8"
Power steering shaft is ~37.5"

I have a manual shaft and Im wondering if I can collapse it to use as a power shaft and it still be safe and function properly??? Thoughts??

People do it all the time.

But your steering shaft will collapse 3” less than it would have before. Will it still collapse enough? The factory didn’t think so, which is why there was two different shafts to begin with.

Only way to really find out is to get in an accident and see if you get speared by the steering shaft.
