How difficult is it to replace a power steer shaft with a manual steer shaft?

Do you of you have any tips or tricks?

Is there an online tutorial out there?

Lastly, while I have it apart, are there any serviceable items I may as well replace/restore???

Thanks!

I converted my leaky, heavy, non-working power steering to fast ratio manual. I had bought a complete manual steering column sight unseen but the visible parts in my car were nicer. So I ended up just removing the longer MS steel shaft and swapping it into my existing column. Also gave everything a fresh coat of paint while it was apart. It's not difficult at all, everything comes out the steering wheel end.

If your turn signal cam is broken, now is a good time to replace it. Got one from Mystical Cuda Enterprises for about $15 at a Mopar show.

Also, if the connector at the box needs help, you can rebuild that too. I believe the splines are different on MS vs. PS boxes so you need the right connector too. And NO, it's not a rag joint. These are Mopars after all.
