I have 727 tans. with a column shifter. Both the shift lever and blinker lever move a little when I rotate the steering wheel to either side. Is this common for a 40 year car or is something differently wrong.

thanks
chris

Somewhat common.
There are some machine screws that hold that section on to the column. They come loose over time.
Obviously you have to remove the wheel, and you may have to unscrew the blinker assy too. You dont have to pull the wiring tho, just move it out of the way to get to the screws. just tighten and reassemble. Maybe a little locktite for some piece of mind.
