Does anybody know whether 14x4.5 steel wheels can be balanced with the stick on weights,or must they still be balanced with the old lead crimp on weights, both front and back?I spent some time and money sandblasting a set, then POR15 painting them, and then topcoating them with Blackcote chassis gloss black.I hate being a fanatic, but I hate having a lot of lead put on them. Can they put the stick ons from the back only? Thanks.

I am no professional by any means but own a tire machine and balancer and I have balanced wheels with only stick on weights on the inside of the wheel and had very good success I have only done it with alloy wheels but I would assume it doesn't matter what the wheel is made of

does not matter but usually takes more due to being closer to the centerline of the wheel. make sure to put metal HVAC tap on then after light taps with a mallet.

they don't work well for painted surfaces, rim rusts a little or the paint comes loose and they will fall off

you can have the wheel statically balanced (inside only) if looks are important
