Two atmospheres are better than one
Bearings and rings are cheap. You’re not too far away from a cheap rebuild doing those things. From the look of the tops of the pistons, that intake had a bad plenum gasket and @408 swinger nailed it.

The plenum gasket did have a couple spots where it was bulging out from under the plate.
