Strangest thing found in your A body???

-
I found a little plastic bag of hash under the back seat when i first bought my duster, i know the previous owner pretty good and know its not his. It looks like its 30 years old. I thought it was funny

somthing kinda freaky about those widow webs is when you touch or bump them the spider does not run away it will charge towards the impact site wacth out they dont play well with others:happy10:

My 74 was my grandpa's car. I found every virginia inspection paper since 1976, maps of our hometown from 72 (guess he transfered that over from his Belvedere wagon) and in the ash tray in the back was a candy necklace my little sister had left in there no telling how many years ago. neat family memories.

oh yeah, the usual mouse nests, two snake skins in the headliner, and a partialy eaten build sheet.

had a nest of blackwidows under my duster last year that came from california, big ones, I killed a dozen at least and when I look under the car there are new webs, need to undercoat the car with raid again I guess.jeez after sprathem they still live for 5 minutes

My grandfather purchased a brand new 74 Scamp 318. He rarely drove it, and always washed it, so we were surprised when about 6yrs old, the passenger door was bubbling through. I took off the door panel and found a pair of white cotton gloves stored there. Of course they were dirty and wet. Must have been left by someone on the line going for lunch lol.

After four days living in a old Kim Chee jar... Finally, I did what should have been done days ago... With a toast and a cheers (after all it was St. Patty's day) my friends, family and neighbors gather around and placed little ms. black widda in the garage freezer :angel11:... she lead a good life... she traveled the world, saw time on a ocean vessel, travel the Pacific ocean... fed off of any bugs that would dare near my Duster and left no BABIES :sign10: (at least none in the Duster).

Everyone thank you for your posts they are, and were very entertaining.

Mahalo!!!

PS that vampire skull freaks me out!!!! :evil4:

Bout 20 years ago discovered a kitten under the hood of my 73 road runner.

I kept hearing this blood curtling cat noise every time I hit the brakes. I decided to stop and try and find out where the sound was comming from.. I opened the hood and there was a little kitten all freaked out trying to hide from the big bad 340 . I put him in the car and took the little guy home and kept him for years. I named him Austin Coil. I know he rode in there for about 10 miles. he was a Mopar Kitty I would be working on the Runner he would be right there with me helping ( mostly geting in my way and making cat tracks all over the car. ) Wife used to tell me that he was my crew chief. weird cat, liked pizza too!

A few years ago I relocated a very large mouse family about 200 miles east when I bought a 74 road runner they waited until the car was unloaded and then one by one made there way into their new home.... MY House ! that sucked ! also I know some poor chipmonk was pretty pissed at me when I took his stash of acorns with me . in the air cleaner. must have been a few hundered of them :) was like a acorn silo. hope he does not find out where I live !

I love finding old stuff in cars it is part of the fun of it. and it tells a bit of the story about a cars life. but, to me a great afternoon it walking through a muddy junk yard checking out all of the cool old cars and stuff laying around. not too many of those old places around here anymore I miss that stuff it is kinda like a trip to disneyland for me

Since we're talking about any car: I have a '48 Chevy street rod project. With my car I got a p.o.s. parts car with extra doors. As I was stripping the car of it's useful items I turned one of the rusty doors upside down and a little red plastic race car fell out! It was so dirty that i had a hard time identifying it. I took it in the house and cleaned it up with soap and water and found out it was in pretty good shape and appeared to be a replica of a 1930's-1940's fenderless track car. I set it on my desk to look at later and went back to work. A few minutes later a second car came out, this time it was yellow! I cleaned it up too then shook the hell out of the door to see if there were more, but that was it. I have no idea where they came from or how long they were in the door. I can just imagine some little kid back in the 50's riding in the car and stuffing these between the window and sill only for them to be discovered by me 50 years later. I'll post some pics later on and maybe some of you older guys can tell me what they are. My guess is some kind of cereal box giveaway.

Dfnsmn34 am i correct in saying being in the paradise state of Hawaii, you have no native species od poisonous spiders?

There is the Cane Spider which doesn't build a web, hunts on the ground for insects, rarely bites, but does have Venom. Its almost as big as a a tuna can...yuck!!! SCARY LOOKING!!!

Then there is the Brown Recluse which is venomous... tiny buggers but they like to stay away from everyone... hence the name...but their bite is bad...kills the skin...

I've never seen black widows here... but I have to believe if one can ride my Duster across the ocean..there has to be plenty more...

As are most creatures on these islands...they all are alien/introduced to the islands... Mosquitos, mongoose, rats, Haoles (Caucasians) etc...

Aloha

Here is a Happy face spider only found on the islands....

well i know you have them there now, but i was under the assumption that there were no native venomous spiders in hawaii. but alas im not from there! DARN haha.

:disgust: What the strangest/craziest/weirdest...item/thing you've found in your A body?

Me? I have found two items that can be described as above...

The first was with my heater hoses... I remove them (after all in Hawaii, who needs heat?) and there were schrader valves stuck in the inlet (at the firewall) to the heater core, blocking the flow of coolant.

Second was...dang why does a spider keep building a web near my passenger rear tire...well I climbed under the car to take alook...fresh webbing...OH a body plug is missing! maybe some little SOB is living in my car...time to pull the rear seat out!

Looky...looky what I find...understand there are NONE IN HAWAII!!!! see photo!!!!:tongue6::puke::axe:

I found 3 of those on my 72'. Kinda freaks you out when you crawl under the car and there's a widow staring right at you. The guy I bought it from lived in the valley and had the car parked in a barn.

WD-40 takes them out quicker than anything I've found. The easiest point of access to their respiratory organs is the underside of the abdomen. Their primitive book lung is kinda passive in its function and has trouble clearing the stuff out.

Found this little dudes head (and some misc bones) in the rear door panel area of my '69 Valiant. Not sure what he is.

No reply to my PMs about the part that sent you 3 weeks ago, or payment?

Tried that but could never get to the bugger... Once I pulled the rear bench out, BAM there she was... by the way doktor_x... you seem to know WAY TO MUCH about a spiders breathing ability!

Don't quote me...but if you cornered me, I would bet the Duster that before the ships started arriving they had nothing venomous on the islands...

Weird. That method has done wonders for me in the past. They grew 'em big in the Sacramento area when I was there and I developed a habit of keeping a dedicated can of WD-40 around. The black widows seemed to have an affinity for "that old car smell". If a car sat for more than two days, it was a very good idea to look things over before shoving hands in there.

Anatomical knowledge of the target vastly increases efficiency as a freelance merchant of (in this case - invertebrate) death. I hate spiders.

Don't know what "strange" means but if surprise qualifies then this does. In the glove box I found the original little envelope, date stamped, with the VIN # that the keys came in from Dodge.

So I get my demon home last summer and proceed to put new carpet in it. Upon taking the rear seat out and the remainder of the old carpet, I find these signatures. I guess a couple of line workers had a little time to spare.

Lets see, In my 73 Swinger so far I have found the following items:

-1 bowl, still full of pot, in the dash board.
-5 Roaches in various ashtrays
-a bunch of dominos under the back seat
-an opened, possibly used condom under the back seat
-a 10 lb bag of kitty litter that subsequently tore open and emptied itself behind the back seat in the very front of the trunk
-various tools scattered throughout

I had a 62 Chevy years ago that had a couple of condom wrappers and roaches in it. I also bought an 83 Chevy Caprice about 10 years ago that was a former Police cruiser, and found an 18 inch long knife hidden in the trunk.

If you found that much pot and roaches in there, that condom was most definitely used!

I figured the same thing as well. None of the pot tasted very good and the condom was removed with a really long screwdriver lol.
