Stripped threads on new regulator

Bought a holley fuel pressure regulator cuz I had problems with carbs runnin over, put the barbed fittings that came with regulator in but needed a 90 on the inlet so took fitting out, took a 1/2 drive rachet to get it out and threads came with it! WTH. Been over a yr since I bought it can't find rec't arghhh were these not the right fittings?

Can't help but hope you got a chuckle!
 
Maybe the threads were toast on the fitting mine went on and came off easily when i got it, but like you its been sitting a while im scared to take them off now.
 
Try heating the outside of the body a bit, not a lot just enough to expand the AL (heat gun not touch)

They went on easily by hand then tightened without any problem
