Ok putting together the front suspension and got to the strut rods and on the lca does the washer go with the nut on the pivot shaft or does it go on the other side between the pivot arm collar and the k-frame?

It goes behind the nut. If you have a space behind the K after tightening the strut you have the wrong bushings on the strut rods your using. the early rods 72 back take narrow two piece or a one piece bushing set. If you use the wider bushings with the early rods you will have a space behind the K as if the washer should go there. The poly bushing sets sold are mostly shipped with parts for the later cars. 73 up rods.
