Suggestions on cleaning up a fan shroud? Paint- Dye??

I have a shroud but it is really faded. Looking for tips on a paint or dye to make it look nice. What did you use????

Try a vinegar and water solution to see if it will remove the oxidation. I did this on my 68 and it looked at lot better.

Pep boys sells spray paint for bumper and trim in black that is very durable and looks great.

Any problems with the paint or trim black paint staying put? I tried some Trim black paint on my kick panels but it did not like that old plastic.

Clean is the key word to make anything stick.

If you are going with a stock look, like a resto, my suggestion would be to scrub hot soapy water. Dishwasing liquid. This will cut any grease and leave suface as clean as possible. Use the black bumper paint as other member said with the promoter put on first. This will give you a finish that is as close to stock as I have found My two cents
