The PO of my 72 duster had started the back half conversion on the car along with installing the tubs. The tubs were about 75% installed (Steel tubs) and I'm slowly working through the process of closing up all the sheet metal around them. They didn't do a great job of trimming up the outside edges of the tubs where they meet the inner fender wells so I'm going to cut out some patch strips to fill the gaps from the tubs to the body.

My plan was to pop rivet the patches to the tubs and to have a series of "tabs" bent on the outside edge of the patches that meet up with the body and use some adhesive to bond them.
For the most part I don't have much panel bonding other than this to do so I was hoping for a suggestion on a good adhesive that isn't going to need any special applicator gun to use. Most of the adhesives I've found online are two part cartridges that require separate tips and specific applicator guns. Is there anything out there that any of you can suggest that does a good job but doesn't require special tools for pretty much a one time use?

Also, what are you using to do the seam sealing on your sheet metal work? I'm not looking to make all the sheet metal around the tubs show quality, just functional and sturdy. It's been a mixture of pop rivets and seam welding as needed. I want to get all the metal in place, riveted or welded and then hit with seam sealer. After that I was planning on using something like Lizard Skin to spray the entire interior and trunk area for thermo/sound proofing and then finish it out with custom interior panels and carpeting.

Thanks in advance for your responses and suggestions.

Dominion makes a very good automotive adhesive sealer. It's very flexible even in colder temperatures and the adhesion properties are incredible. The material comes in a tube. I don't use anything else.

I'm a believer in Lord Fusor products too. I've used both Fusor 129 and 122EZ for seam sealing. As two-part products, they do require a special application gun.

I've used 3M™ Urethane Seam Sealer, White, 310mL Cartridge, 08368. Works great and dries very quickly. It come in a variety of colors (grey, black, beige and white)
