Summit 6 pack hood scoop

-
Looks like it's been molded from a plymouth scoop, hasn't got the ridge on the hood flange that a coronet has, hard to tell from the picture but looks correct. Theres often variations in even the factory scoops, but a factory six pack scoop should have a slightly dished top, almost like an upside down wing, the theory was it would create a higher air flow into the mouth of the scoop, with out the scoop having to be up high out of the boundary air turbulence rolling over the hood. For this reason the hemi scoops also have a curled up lip on the front edge, most other factory scoops are just there for the looks. Hope that helps.

thanks..

so does anyone know the quality of these though? not necessarily going for stock look, but want something functional..

Looks pretty close to the stock ones, center brace looks a bit wider than the originals.

Dunno how much it'll affect your plans, being you want something functional...and the summit site say's this one is not functional, not sure what they mean there...I'd call them.
Take a gander over at the aar fiberglass site. Their 6 Pack scoops are dead on the money looks wise. http://www.aarqualityfiberglass.com/

well i was looking at those, but i figured that i shouldn't put so much money into my car on cosmetic stuff. i didn't see on sumits site though that they said they weren't functional. i'll check that out again. thanks for pointing that out..

thats the same scoop Im gonna put on mine, is wish it was 3 inches longer to cover the hole I already have but a little fiberglass work is easy to do. I found one cheaper than Summits price but since you have the discounts its about the same price. http://www.carparts.com/MOPAR-SIX-P...N_111+10718+600023145_10618.car#CommunityTabs if you click on the enlarge to view its the same one.

do you have pics of your installed one?

i came across that one on carparts.com too. its the same one at jcwhitney as well i believe. is that one bolt on or does it have to be bonded on?
thanks
