Whose running Super Tricks at the track? I just bought a pair of 15x10s to mount my Hoosier drag radials on. Any gotchas aside from making sure they don’t leak where the two halves meet?

Best looking wheel ever produced. Attention Vintage Pro stockers. Just don't brush a curb or hit a hole with one. There are reasons they were "competition only" identified in the 70 's. American Racing Outlaws will give you the same look with a little better durability.

I ordered these from Bogart Racing. "12 x 15s 4.5 BS" and "5 x 15s 2.5 BS". They told me these would hold up to street use.

Back in the mid 1970s, I was visiting my go to car builder guy. He was doing some maintenance on a customer's 68 Camaro drag car. He asked me to hand him a front SuperTrick with a front runner drag tire on it. I put my hand through the center hole and gave it a yank off the floor. I almost tossed it over my head. I never would have guessed how light it was.

Here's the set of 12" wide I swapped pieces around to get the offset I wanted for my 74 Duster that's tubbed to the frame rails.

I would be ashamed to tell you how many hours I worked on these and the amount of money I spent, but I got what I wanted.

I have a set of original like new for the Demon 15x12 7 1/2 BS and 15 x4. Bought them from Mike a member on the site. They are not polished and have the original gold bolts and new caps . Looked for a long time . I have 12 inch Weld draglites on both cars
I also bought new torque thrust and 200s. Found out you need period correct wheels for the Gasser class. 200s wheels are allowed so Steve just bought 4. $1800 for 12's and 4's. The caps and wheels are different then the old sets I had

Now we have 8-Draglites , 4- torque thrust, 4- s200. 4 super tricks, and steel we had made. all 12's and 4's.

So its S-200's on the Valiant and cragar super tricks on the Race Demon and Torque trust on the street Demon. I am sick of looking at the Welds. and the steel were way to heavy.

Years ago I put s200's on everything. But I always liked the Super tricks

Lots of great information here guys. One concern I have came from Subcom in the original post referring to leaks between the halves. As I recall from the 70's the original Crager Super Tricks required tubes inside.I was told never use tubeless tires on a "Race Car".

I have lots of Tricks and some parts. I run tubes in almost all my racing stuff. And, I also drive them on the street on occasion.
Just, no road racing.

So I’ve found a couple of different forum posts elsewhere on addressing the sealing between the two halves. There’s some good options that don’t require tubes so that shouldn’t be a show stopper. Here’s one:

Absolutely gorgeous Coronet and Aspen !!!. Going to the Vintage Pro Stock Race at Kuhnle in Ohio next week; hope we may see you there. Again , both beautiful cars !

I have Weld 2.0 rims on my Rambler. The problem with the older rims (Super Trick) is they are not SFI approved and NHRA will only let you go so fast on them.

WOW, those are NICE!
Nothing wrong with the concept of getting what you want!
I've got a pair of pizza cutter fronts that probably need the same work, except for the polish!

I used some non-hardening seam sealer on mine 15+ years ago. cleaned the wheel halves really well, bolted them together and ran a bead and smoothed it out with my finger. Can't remember if I had the O-ring in there when I bolted them together or not. I love the way they look.

To seal a set of Super Trick halves I run 1.00" wide painters tape all the way around on both sides of the void. Then I use GE Aviation silicone and caulk a good bead down between

the halves. Next I take a plastic bondo spreader and squish it in good. Once I get it all smoothed out immediately remove the tape. I've never had any issues running tubeless.
