Superformance Oil Pan Gasket

I just opened my Superformance oil pan gasket set today and noticed a notch on one side of each of the 2 molded end seals. I'm looking for feedback on what the notch is for and which side that should be on (facing inboard or out). The fiber washer is also a question as to what that is intended for.

I have used that gasket before. I didn’t notice a knoch on mine, but I would put it on the inside, and see how it fits. I think that the fiber washer would be for the drain plug.

I have used that gasket on my 416 build two months ago. Knoch on the inside. I used it on a milodon 8 quart street pan.
