Swinger not charging

Ok guys here is one for ya. On my way home last night I noticed my alternator guage in discharge. So today I put a new alternator, new voltage regulator and still not charging. So I jumped a wire from the stud on the alternator to the positive side of the battery. That didn't work so I bypassed the green and blue wire from the voltage regulator to the terminals with new wires on the alternator and still no luck. I then double checked the grounds, regrounded in different places. I have tried everything that I could think of including a box of voltage regulators I had kicking around and nothing seems to work.

Try pulling off the plug at regulator and ground the field [green] wire thats closer to the valve cover [on the alternator] and with car running test the voltage on the output post if no go get a new alternator.

If good check regulator or wiring to.

After that look for a short somewhere.
