Switching yokes on rearend

I have a 741 case in car with 3.23 gears....i found a 742 case with 4.11 gears i want to put in my car but the yokes are not the same, the one in the car is about 3 3/4 in width the one on 742 case is about 3 1/4. My question is can i just swap them is there a cruch bearing or something i will screw up if i remove them?

You should be able to swap them right out as long as they are the same spline count (I think there are 10 and 29 spline).

No crush sleeve on a 741. Only the 489 case used a crush sleeve. 741's and 742's used a spacer. Don't forget to apply some blue loctite to the nut before torquing it down or it may back off.
