I have a couple of vintage 1970's tachs (Sun super tach and an Autometer) that do not function properly with the rev-in-ator ignition system and coil. I have tried both the wire from the box and direct wire to the negative coil side.
I have asked the revinator sales staff and they will not reply to the question.
What modern tachs will function acceptably if any? Are the Bosch Retro tachs compatible?

No idea. I would have thought coil NEG just like everything else except for CDI (MSD)

I find it odd you're having troubles. I run the rev-n-nator unit with that same white face, push the needle around the face aftermarket basic cheap tach (sunpro I think). Runs fine.

When you say they do not function properly whats going on? Most common problem with tach not reading right or "tic tocing" or anything like that is an electrical interference with your wire to the negative side of the coil. It has to pickup a clean signal to work the tach. As far as I know.
