Went to put an Auto Meter temp guage probe into my Edelebrock SP-2 and the tip bottoms out and doesn't leave but three threads to hold it in place which isn't nearly enough in my opinon. My question is if I raise it up with some kind of longer pipe nipple and a reducer it will make the probe sit up so high it wouldn't be in the water steam. Wouldn't this give a incorrect temperature reading? Has anyone else ran into this a found a good fix? Thanks.
