Hiya, so, the temperature control lever on my 1974 Dart is stuck at the warm end, it won't move, any ideas?
Disconnect the cable from whatever it's connected to and see if the control and cable are free. If so it's the valve or whatever it's connected to.P.S. forgot to mention this is an AC/heater box
Those metal wires actually move back and forth inside a black plastic sheath to open and close the air doors and valves. To disconnect them , remove the Phillip's screw holding the clip on at either end of the cable and slip the round eye off the post its attached to, then you should be able to move the door flaps, the valves or the controls independently. the one that doesn't move is the source of your problem.Thank you for the previous answers I have taken out the glove box and in this picture, looking through, just above the back end of the radio, is where I have located one end of the temp control lever, it has some metal wire wrapped around it (doesn't move from here either) and just below it to the right I see the control for the blend doors which moves but is not connected to anything. Are these two supposed to connect to each other and with what or to what? Where should the cables be/what does each end attach to? What does the part of temp slide control look like where it is stuck and I can't see? Can the cables come off on their own and where might they hide? I appreciate your insight!
