I had an issue with the carpet in my 64 Valiant and posted a thread about best thing to do.

Here is thread. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=279886

I was going to buy a new one as I felt the old one was too far gone as it had dried cement all over it from some product that was used on the shifter area. 66Dvert recommended I try a good carpet dye and a power washer first. Glad I listened. It turned out great and cost very little.

your welcome. I'm glad it helped, and it looks pretty good too! leave it out in the heat for a bit to help form it to your floorboard and use anything heavy to help form it to the curves. you can usually clean up a non ripped carpet by doing that.

Yes, I did the same with the carpet in my '63 Signet 'vert.

When it arrived from Ca I had to take it out to replace the rear floors. I intended to replace it, but I can't get molded carpet for that car here in Australia. Shipping was a joke from US to here so I did the clean up and redye thingo. It was red and i used a deep red dye.

It took some time for the dye to really dry properly but it looks great and I saved a bundle.
