I woke up again with a bad belly at 1:00 am and checked the stocks that I follow as the markets been open all night while I sleep. I got up again at 5:00 am plugged in the kids tablets and started to pack then watched the sun come up over Cebu City.

Kids got up and we searched for lost sunglasses and went down to breakfast. Big ornate buffets are the theme at all the resorts we stayed at for the last 3 weeks. We had a lot of fresh mango and pineapple. Can’t wait to get home for a decent cup of coffee.

We are headed to a play park for the kids and then off to the airport. It’s 9:00 am on January 9th…

More to come

Longest day:

I forgot and rinsed my toothbrush in the faucet in the final rush and tossed it in the garbage. I think it’s how I got the bad belly a couple weeks ago. I went to collect the kids at 9:50 from the play area while wife finished getting ready. The hotel found the missing sunglasses and we jumped into the cab.
Ride to the airport was quick. Getting around here is butt clinch worthy. Lots of people in a variety of machines and speeds. Everyone shares ALL of the lanes and there’s a lot of honking. Intersections are crazy. Cebu was hit hard during typhoon ——. there are damaged boats and buildings in rout.
The WiFi was bad at the airport and couldn’t get a note out. No matter, my battery is low and we stood in line to check in for two hours, then customs. found that our flight was delayed a little so we tried to offload our last piso’s on trinkets and food tried to settle my belly We ran into the Korean family that we met the night before. Their kids were similar ages and they played an agonizingly long game of pool while we got to know the parents. Anyway their daughter pulled our son out of the customs line for a quick selfy. Then went our separate ways.EVA air has a few planes painted up with hello kitty and the kids dig it. We take off and they settle into their tablets and French fries. We’re boarding. off to Taipei. It’s 1:00 pm January 9th.
It’s now 3:30 I Taipei

We got on a plane for home. We may have hit January 10th for a bit while racing east. But with a healthy tail wind, 7 time zones, and the international date line, we were able to catch back up to some of yesterday's late dusk twilight for a few hours over the Pacific. The plane was making over 700mph over ground for awhile.

I think I slept between 4 or 5 hours but the kids slept much better. I plugged both of their tablets in to charge for the last leg of the flight when they woke up. Tablets, with little cartoon videos and games were key component in keeping them occupied for those long stretches of sitting. Sometime during the night the attendants were acting strangely and asked if any of us had medical backgrounds... then they asked for family members to meet an attendant ...??? when we arrived at the gate they left us buckled for quite a long time after they opened the cabin door and drew some curtains.... Man I think someone had a bad night on our plane over (or worse). My belly was still pretty unsettled and their coffee didn't help me a bit. US customs was a breeze and the luggage and our shuttle home was already waiting for us when we go out of the terminal in Seattle. The kids got the driver to stop at Burger King on the way home! I has to frantically dig up some extra greenbacks to augment the guys tip.

Unfortunately we're not tired at all and we may be up for the rest of this , The Longest Day

It's 9:15 p.m. on January 9th again! So glad to be home. and I can't wait for January 10th.

more pix if I ever get my cell phone back. the tour guide is mailing it apparently.

good night!
