Years ago (80s-90s) this would be the test we’d apply when someone had rounded a lobe, invariably the lifters were never a factor then, generally returning a RC of 54-56 (from memory) Generally it was run in procedure or setup that brought on failure. Lifter bore alignment was also an often overlooked issue that stopped lifters from turning (especially in SBChevs)
