Have a 30 thou over 360 LA. Mild cam/ 915 J heads 2.02 1.60 valves with mild porting and block huggers. Thermostat is 180*. I have just installed a thermo fan and was wondering what is the optimal on off range for the sensor in this car?

That's a loaded question.

Do you want it running while at cruising speed on the interstate?

You will need to experiment to find what temp the engine runs at on the interstate, account for hotter days where the normal temp might be a few degrees higher.

To me a few degrees above that temp would be the upper temp. The lower somewhere around thermostat temp.

This is just what I would do, and I am not trying to keep my engine at 195.000000 degrees under all conditions.

I just don't want it to get over 215.

Im going to try out with a sensor that comes on at 200* and switches off at 185* That should be fine on the highway and should keep it down on a hot day in traffic
