I have a 72 intake manifold and a 72 year date Thermoquad. I am looking for the correct factory choke. I have pix of 2. Is the one on the left the correct piece? I am missing the rod, looking to buy one or the whole choke. The one on the right is a Holley and puts it to close to the carb to work. Does anybody know where to get one? Are they availible new or just finding an old one?

If you have a stock 340 intake and a stock TQ, those are not the correct chokes. You need a divorced choke. There's one on ebayy for $125 NOS.

Hi Paul,
You are right, My intake is date-coded 7/72 and it has the 73 choke, like you see above. I don't believe it is the right intake on my car. The car was made in 7/72, but the motors are usually always made earlier, Right?
thanks for thr good info.
I am looking for a good 73 choke for a Thermo-Quad.

Thanks again,
T.J.
