Thermostat failure Mr. Gasket High Flow

Well I got her done and no leaks and heat back in the cabin and under the hood. I used an Edelbrock # 8607 thermostat to solve my problem. It's the bigger one for the older cars.
 
To put the 1/8 hole in thermostat. Put the gasket over it and where gasket doesn't cover drill the hole. Just not too close to where the opening is.
 
No T stat for me. Restrictor plate is what I use.

It can not fail.

All the T stat does is warm you up and keep it warm at prolonged speed. If you need one you dont run enough compression or timing.

I worry about keeping my engine cool not buying things that get it hot.

takes longer to warm up w/ a plate, I`ve done it both ways on a 600 horse sbc . Went down to a 5/8" hole in the plate, worked well until winter hit, then had to cover part of the rad. w/ cardboard.
