thermostat for holley street dominator?

ok so i have a street dominator intake, i bought a new thermostat trying to get as much done to it before i put the motor back in car. well the thermostat i got is too small, it just falls through the hole..so what am i missing? is there a certain thermostat i need?

What year did you specify when you bought the thermostat? It takes the early larger thermostat. Tell them 1969 and it should be right. Myron

same as my motor. 85, ok ill ask for an earlier one today. i wasnt sure if the sizes changed. thanks.
