That's a bummer. As stated before, at least you didn't get injured and the car is ok. Sucks you have to wait.
 
also,a hunid bucks is a lot since you had to do the hard part... cutting off the old ones.
 
I think he is onto something here, and yes you can carefully remove the spirolock and move the retainer out. I have had to do it before ( a buddy was in a hurry to get his car back together and forgot the retaining ring before pressing the bearing on )
At least I know I'm not the only one this has happened too.
 
I can't believe that anyone that calls them self a mechanic or machinist would do some thing so stupid as to press the bearing on and then merely slide the axle retainer onto the open end of an axle and let you walk out the door? Am I right in what he did or am I miss understanding you?
