Thnking about buying a fuel tank. Is my car an early 71 or a late 71?

Hey All:

I have a 71 Dart. Thinking of getting a fuel tank. Anyone know how to tell the difference between an early 1971 and a late 1971 model? There are apparently two different gas tanks for my model year....

Any help appreciated.

When was your car built? I believe the difference in tanks is just in how many vent pipes it has coming out of it and where the vent pipes are. Either tank should fit. I think the early '71 tank has 4 vent pipes and the late '71 tank has 1 vent pipe.
